The Six Giants Of Global Profits

In a recent article, Martin Weiss of Money and Markets talks about six nations that are so crucial that there is nothing we do on a daily basis that is not connected to or dependent on them!

"They make the clothes you wear. They answer the phones when you call customer service. They build your cars and supply the fuel to keep them running. They make the paste in your toothpaste. Some of them examine your CT scans instead of your doctors. Quietly, invisibly, they have penetrated every corner of our daily lives!"

These countries are China, India, Japan, Australia, Brazil and Canada!

In 1993, the Chinese Premiere, Deng Xiapong, introduced a paradigm shift with the words; "To get rich is glorious" which unleashed China's relentless march to prosperity. Today, all across China, a city the size of San Francisco is being built every two weeks. China has 100 cities with a population of over one million. The US has nine only! More and more, the Chinese are trading in their bicycles for motor vehicles. By 2015, China will have more vehicles than the US! This growth comes at a price but for now, China's economic engines are super steroids!

The church is quietly growing. Perhaps not at the same rapid pace but China is one of the ripe harvest fields. The believers there are seasoned through years of persecution and have something to share with the rest of the body globally. God is yet to showcase one of His master pieces here.

India's economy is rising relentlessly at 8% annually. Its stock market has tripled in the last three years. And the church? Growing in leaps and bounds! From the low two percentile a few years ago, the church has risen to over 6% of the population. Tons of persecution recently but growing relentlessly too!

Since Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva became Brazil's president five years ago, Brazil has paid off her obligation to the international monetary fund, gone from a deficit of $8 billion to a trade surplus of $46 billion! And the church? Exceeded their goal of 250 000 churches by 2010 by fulfilling it two years early.

Canada is described as the strongest and most stable natural resource nation in the world with the technology and expertise it needs to exploit it. Australia, likewise, is experiencing a new gold rush, except this time its for its rich uranium deposits. Japan, nestled next to China, has cleaned up its act and is capitalizing on its giant neighbor's economic boom. Its stock market doubled in the last two years. The sun is rising again in Japan!

Why is it that the first three countries are known for their church growth while little is known to be happening in the second three? Could it be that the first three are third world while the second three are first world? Is it possible that God has to arrange circumstances in the second group to make then open up? I am thinking of the vast resources in these nations that could be mobilized for the end time harvest.

What needs to happen for all six of these global economic giants to become rich in God as well?

Lets ask the Lord of the harvest. He knows. I know that the battle is not to the strong, nor the race to the swift, I know God has chosen the weak and the foolish things to confound the wisdom of this world. But He is also the God who was buried among the rich. We need the resources of these nations, human and material, to complete the great commission. May He raise laborers from these nations.

AMEN.
