Praying for Venezuela

Venezuela is a contradictory country.  It is the richest country of the region because of its oil and minerals, yet it is a country where food is lacking due to the unstable policies of the government.    Ramon Mendoza, the national coordinator reported that the church is making good progress; the Dawn team is serving the church and assisting in several areas.  In the last three months they have met with pastors in five States sharing the vision of church planting and carrying out research.  Three main denominations are currently implementing church planting schools; Assemblies of God (with four), The Baptist Convention and Peniel.

On May first, Dawn Venezuela called for a prayer gathering named “Cry for Venezuela” which was held in 335 main municipalities in 24 States.

From the President

An incident with a man I found by the side of a road one night, will illustrate the plight of the nation. When I stopped for this man, who I assumed was a hit and run victim, I discovered he was diabetic and had collapsed by the side of the road because he had had no food for days. It turned out that he was a farm laborer fleeing political violence after his house was burnt to the ground with everything he possessed. He had escaped with his life to report his case to the police who were not interested in helping him. He was from the wrong end of the country and therefore the wrong tribe.
