Latin America Leadership Development

Research shows that in the Amazon Basin there are 30,000 villages with no churches and 5,000 cities with less than 2 percent of its population Evangelical Christians. Empowering the national leaders with tools in leadership development and church planting is part of Dawn’s mission.

With a population of over 500 million, 70% of whom are under the age of 35, Latin America is one of the most beautiful continents in the world. However, the problems of poverty, violence, sexual abuse, abortion, discrimination, government corruption, etc. have taken a lot of that beauty away. The issues plaguing the continent have caused the blessing of its youth to fade.

Evangelical Christians compose 18.35% of the population. This percentage has been the result of a massive church planting effort in the last ten years. The rest of the population is primarily Catholic—characterized by the popular religiosity and nominalism found in the region. There is also a growing number who are involved in various sects such as: New Age, Metaphysics and Spiritualists.

The harsh reality that challenges us is the urgent need for the integral transformation of our society. In the ministry of DAWN, we are committed to that cause. We believe that our nations should be reached in totality with the Gospel of Christ. We believe that they should be discipled with the values of Christ’s Kingdom. In the same way, each man and woman should have the opportunity of hearing, consciously responding, and be taken care of in Christian communities for their personal growth and development as a man or woman of God and a citizen of the world.

With the dream of seeing better days and significant changes in our region, we are working in the following countries: Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Cuba, Togo, Cameroon, Swaziland, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Hispanic USA, Brazil, Guatemala, Uruguay, Venezuela, and El Salvador

From the President

January 20 was an historic moment not only for America but for the world as the Obama administration took office. Following the financial shake up that the west is going through, which has filtered to the rest of the world, everywhere you turn changes are inevitable. Most organizations, religious or secular, have had to make serious adjustments to face the challenges of the new year.
